Tourists Warned of the Need for Travel Safety

The national office in charge of holidays issued a notice on Friday, asking tourist sites around the country to tighten up on safety checks, to make sure no tourist accidents happen again during the May Day Holiday.

The notice suggests tourists choose the right time and place to travel, making full preparations before setting off.

It especially highlights the need for safety among tourists fascinated with outdoor explorations.

Would-be-Explorers are advised to take guidance from professional travel operators, and not to wander too far away from roads, so that rescue teams can reach them in the case of an emergency.

It also suggested amateur expeditioners keep off the exploration activities known to involve the highest of risks.

China has seen tourists accidents almost every day since the begining of this May Day Holiday.

Two rafts collided with each other in water on May 1st, in a park in Wuhan, capital of central China's Hubei province, causing 6 people to be injured.

Ten mountaineers encountered an avalanche near a snowy mountain in southwest China's Yunnan province on May 2nd, leaving two dead and 7 injured.

A small floating plane collided with a motor boat on a tourist lake of Nanjing, capital of east China's Jiangsu province on May 2nd, and a 13-year-old girl was heavily injured.
