More than 800 kinds of flowers are on display in Yuyuantan park in Beijing, to test which species do well during the city's hot and humid summers.
The Beijing Youth Daily reports that these flowers will be displayed all over Beijing including at the different Olympic gymnasiums in the city.
The city's gardening department has been working for two years to ensure that come 2008, beautiful flowers adorn the city.
More than 1,000 types of flowers have been tested, and 500 have been pre-selected.
