The Second Troupe of Peking Opera House of Beijing consists of outstanding middle-aged and young actors and actresses, reputed for fine strength of performance.

It has a strong line-up with 11 performers of national level: Chen Ziqing( old male), Zhao Shipu (old male), Ye jinyuan **(martial male), Tan Xiaozeng(old male), An Yunwu *(old male), Yan Guixiang*(coquettish female), Zhao Baoxiu ** (old female), Qin Xueling *(coquettish female), Bai Qilin(clown, male) (Note: *They won the prize of plum blossom of the national drama competition. ** They won both the prize of plum blossom of national drama and the golden prize of Mei Lanfang).

The repertoir of the troupe are "Qin Xianglian","Gathering of Heroes, Borrowing the East Wind, Huarong Path", "Yao Qi", "Yang Silang Visits His Mother", "The White Snake", "The Wild Boar Forest", "Havoc in Heaven", "The Red-fish Princess", etc.

The troupe has visited America, Germany, Italy, Japan, HongKong, Taiwan, where its performance was highly praised.
