Mei Lanfang Peking Opera Troupe was established in March 1995 by Peking Opera House of Beijing and Longhui Industrial Co., Ltd. of Shanghai.

The troupe specializes in the art of Mei School, paying attention to the development of various schools, consisting of civil as well as martial roles. The famous artist of Peking opera performance Mei Baojiu is appointed head of the troupe whose chief performers include Mei Baoyue, Zhang Xuejin, Li Yufu, Yang Shaochun, Wang Shufang as well as young performers Li Hongyan, Wang Yi, Ye Jiangxiang. The chief plays of its repertoire are "Woman Warrior Takes Command", "King Xiang Yu Bids Farewell to His Concubine" , "The Drunken Beauty", "The Nymph of the Luo River", etc.

The troupe was invited to perform in Denmark and Norway and was warmly welcomed.
